Am i worrying for no reason?

Hi,
I am pregnant with mine and my patners first child and his mums first grandchild, she has always been on at us from when we first started dating that she wanted grandchildren and was not pushy but dropped little hints as to when we were going to have them. So 8 years later ( we’ve been dating since high school ) we find out we’re expecting and she is extatic to say the least.
The only problem is, she developed this liking of real babies a couple of years ago ( before she knew we were having one ) and used to show us them and walk around the house cradling them and basically pretending they were real ( they all have first names and middle names ), but this was fine as i have seen many programmes on people that do this and i felt it could be because she was lonely.
So upon telling her, she has said that she is giving up work so she can look after it full time?? She also goes on everytime i see her how as soon as i have it she is going to have it.
I dont know whether to say anything as it could just be unharmful excitement but i am growing quite concerned that i am going to be constantly playing a tug of war with my mum in law with my baby as she always goes on about how she is going to be keeping it, and her grandchild isnt doing this and pushchairs, cotts, names arent good enough that ive chosen for HER grandchild??
Please help./
am i being OTT
Sorry not real babies, i meant dolls that are like real babies
Will the council give me a transfer for these reasons?

The flat has steep stairs because it is a first floor flat. I feel the stairs are a hazard to both me and the baby. I will have to leave the pushchair outside (as their isn’t space at the bottom of the staircase for a pushchair) while I take my baby upstairs. This will involve me leaving the baby unattended while I go back downstairs and fold the pushchair, which is open to theft. I will then have to carry the heavy pushchair up the stairs which may cause me to slip and hurt myself.
The flat has 1 small bedroom which I will have to share with the baby. There isn’t any space for a cot to be put up.
The bathroom doesn’t have a bath which will make it hard to wash and clean the baby.
I have a 12 month contract but have only lived here for 6 months
May I add that i am 21 years old and have just left my full time job to go on maternity leave. I have never smoked and duh! i’m pregnant. Some people can be so unkind.

How Can I Stop My 3 year old running off?
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010 | Parenting | 11 Comments
My son is going through an extremely active phase. he can hardly keep still. I cope by going out a lot. The problem is in town when he keeps running off - never very far but it scares me and i end up shouting, its the fear of losing him.
i have taught him very good road sense and he always holds the pushchair or my hand when crosssing ( i mean the babys pushchair, he is too big and heavy to be in one himself. i wish!)
I avoid the shops with him but we need to go to the bus station sometimes on the way to other places. If the bus is the wrong type for my baby’s pushchair we have a 30 min wait for another so go to the shop centre for a drink …so he keeps running off.
cannot see how i can totally avoid this situation so any ideas how i can get him to walk with me and the babys pushchair? am stumped because he seems to have this compulsion to run. I walk alot with him to wear him out - but never seems to be tired, he can run for 20 mins.
at the bus station today i screamed so loudly everyone turned and stared. my son came over and we both started crying. he was subdued for the whole rest of the day. this has never happened. i feel very bad about what im doing to him . it feels impossible to control myself when i get scared about his safety.
has anyone had trouble with kiddicare.com?
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010 | Parenting | 1 Comment
i brought a silvercross push chair 3d and the pole that keeps the hood up has broken in two!
this waas not due to being too heavy handed as i was only putting the pushchair up.
kiddicare want me to pay £25 to have it fixed but i refuse too pay because i believe it is a manufacturing issue!
can anyone tell me where i stand legally on this? or if anyone has had the same trouble with silvercross 3D pushchair id love to no thanx

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 | Parenting | 3 Comments
i am completely obsessed with the bugaboo pushchairs i have had 4 different buggies for my 2 year old including the bugaboo gecko but it is just not good enough i want a chameleon!! i am going to buy one i think i can then use it for my son and then for our 2nd baby when we have one my husband is very very angry with me about my obsession i cant help it where can i get one that is cheaper than in the stores ps it must be brand new thanks!!!!!
i think i am a little crazy yeah!!
it is abit selfish yeah but my son gets the best of everything, we can afford to do it by working hard!
my son has an education fund and 2 other trust funds he has plenty of security for his future, my husband always agrees with me in the end and deep down he wants the same as me the best of everything.
bugaboo chameleon?
Monday, May 17th, 2010 | Parenting | 4 Comments
After shopping around for prams yesterday, I have found what I think is the best invented ever. The bugaboo chameleon seems to have everything a mother to be could wish for. I have decided to pay just over £700 for all accesories (carry cot, chasis, pushchair and car seat)
Does anybody have this pram and of so I would like all opinions, good and bad please.
Many thanks
