I bought this for my wife and would recommend it. I won’t go on too much since I am a bloke reviewing a breast pump !.
Good point :
- Very quiet
- Does not take too long to express a bottle.
- easy to clean (except for the tube to the pump but u don’t need to clean this all the time).
Bad point :
- Bottle might be abit small but we empty it into an avent bottle for storage. Not a problem really.

Like many mothers who want the best for their baby but don’t have the time or ability to sit down all day breast feeding on demand, the idea of the breast pump seems ideal.
I did use a manual breast pump with my first daughter many years ago and found that I got myself into a sticky, irritated mess! It was beacuse of this I was in two minds whether to buy a pump at all, never mind spend the best part of £100 to purchase one.
Having read professional reviews, I took a leap of faith and bought this model. I must say that while it may be considered a little expensive and it is a little tricky to operate one handed (while feeding my baby with the other breast,) I expressed some three ounces of milk in around 20 minutes.
I was then able to take my baby out shopping for some essentials without having to give her formula milk or listen to her scream the shop down before we returned home.
The pump is easy to assemble, clean and operate and will be a huge benefit when I return to work in the future.
Simply, I wish I’d have bought one earlier!

I have to express breast milk for my new daughter as she was 6 weeks early and had some difficulties feeding. I bought this particular model as it is the same make as the hospital breast pumps and I have not been disappointed. My milk supply is still going strong 6 weeks later and its handy that I can take it with me and express using the battery power option. Really can’t praise this product enough.. it’s truely helping me keep my supply going until such time that my baby can take to breast feeding (fingers crossed). My only critism is its a touch noisy but thats all. Great breast pump, worth the money.

I have been using the pump for around 10 weeks now, sometimes three times a day, and it hasn’t let me down yet. It is pricey, but I believe worth the money. The upsides for me are that I can express around 4 ozs in about 20 mins, and all of the plastic parts do not contain Bisphenol-A. I also like the fact that I can control the degree of suck. Oh, and you can use it with batteries too.
Downside, you do feel a bit like a cow in a milking parlour and I’m told the noise it makes is almost identical!
One other thing, if you do have any problems at all with the pump the people at Medela customer services are extremely helpful and professional.

I originally rented the Medela Symphony, the heavy duty one from the hospital. It was excellent in so many ways, except for the price. I mostly breastfeed, but like to have the option, so I decided to go for this one. Overall, it is a great little pump. It takes a while to pump and isn’t as powerful as the Symphony, but that’s to be expected. I did try the battery option and it goes through them very fast. This is really best if you are out and about, away from an electrical outlet. The only thing I just cannot understand about this pump is the little tube that goes into the bottle is triangular while the bottle insert is circular. This is minor, but a design flaw. The tube does fall out from time to time, which is annoying more than anything. Overall I am happy with this, but if I planned on pumping more often or exclusively I would spend the money on the Symphony because it is really great.
