It was hard to decide which to buy between the medela and this pump but I chose this in the end because it was cheaper. It doesn’t take much time at all to get used to it and is very comfortable (especially with the rubber petal in the funnel). I have had mine for about a month now and use it about once a day, its helping to keep my milk going when my baby is either sick or fussy and doesn’t eat much. There are lots of extra things that it comes with but as I already have bottles, I don’t use that much of it.
After a bit of practice I’ve learnt that it is possible to get about 2 to 3 let downs when using this on a breast but it sometimes takes about 3 -5 minutes until that happens. As this is electronic and you can let it carry on pumping for you at the speed that you’ve selected, it makes it very easy to get to the next let down.
Taking it apart and washing it is very easy - I put it in a steam box and sterilize it in the microwave and then its ready to go again.
I would recommend this product to women who are struggling with manual pumps and want something easy and comfortable to use

I absolutely loved this product with my first child. It was quick and easy to set up without looking at the instructions, easy to clean, and compatible with other avent storage bottles, so great to store a lot of expressed milk too.
It comes with bottles to get you started and can be used as a manual pump if you prefer that action but I found the electric to be quick and efficient and most importantly gentle on often very full breasts. Indeed the pump was a god send when I had mastitis and really relieved the tenderness and was definitely a contributory factor in enabling me to breastfeed for longer.

My son was born 14 weeks early and I used to have to express milk for him using a hospital pump for the 12 weeks he was in hospital. As he didn’t take to breastfeeding I decided to buy this pump for home use so that I could express milk for his feeds. In retrospect I wish I’d hired a more heavy duty pump for use at home as this gave up on me after 11 weeks of use. I was expressing 5-6 times a day and the motor unit just ended up going funny. There is the option to use the manual attachments but if I’d wanted to express manually then I wouldn’t have spent the extra on an electronic version! The motor unit also gets drops of milk in it and it is exremely difficult to clean and there is no advice in the booklet on the best way to clean the motor unit - I feel this is quite unhygenic even though they say this part doesn’t come into contact with the baby’s milk. It’s also very difficult to detach the motor unit from the bottle etc when you finish expressing and milk tends to drip out all over the place.
In short, I would only advise buying this if you intend only to express once or twice a day or when you need to leave some milk for a sitter to give to your baby.

I used this pump for 5 months and I think its fantastic. Once you have the pump set to the speed that you like (which only takes a few seconds to do) its just a matter of turning it on and let it do its work. Its really easy to use and great value for money.

Wanted to leave a review as some of the others had mentioned that it was slow and difficult to put together. I personally think this is a fantastic product. It’s very simple to take apart, wash and put together. It’s also very easy to use and it will go as fast or as slow as you choose with the manual start - whoever invented this was a genius! I had difficulties letting down before - but now find it much easier as it feels more natural.
